( I used Paint.NET) Ari had posted this a while ago and i was interested but this was making its rounds at facebook so i figured I'd post my result here too. Happy Birthday Nikolaus!!
So Apollo won't let me remote to my laptop so i can use my big monitor and regular keyboard to access it, so i had to go out and get a KVM switch. I am really only using the K and the M of the switch as my computer only has DVI connections to the video card and the V in this KVM was VGA. Luckily the monitor has two connections so i just have to push a dinky little button on the bottom of the monitor.
Doing the new job thing has made me reschedule many things. I don't really do live journal during the day and consequently don't really read as much and post as much as I used to.
I don't remember a ton about the last month that is of much interest. Leslie and I bought ourselves G1 phones from T-Mobile (The google phone, Android OS...). I am really liking it. I restructured all my email around it. I now use Google Apps on my jeffmartin.com domain and my mail goes all to gmail now. I use Popfile to have my computer automatically organize my mail (All my SCA mail goes into one spot, notifications, maillist, work, personal, spam ... all to their own separate labels, auto-magically.) One of the reasons I like my phone so much is that now I can listen to podcasts away from my computer (and the phone even can download them without connecting to my computer) I listen to tech podcasts mostly but I discoved the Lions Road SCA podcast in the last month or two and have enjoyed listening to it. For the last two weeks, the Lions Road guys have been doing a live recording of their show and I have phoned/skyped in during the show. In other news, I was awarded the Blood of Fenris on Sunday during warpractice which was a total suprise to me. Also on Sunday evening, I sent in my letter of intent to fight in crown. This had more to do with the King reminding people to send it in and less to do with being awarded the Blood of Fenris. panda partyDame Jenniferwaiting for estrella meeting to start and playing with the new gphone Posted via Pixelpipe.Been a while since I posted. The new job is keeping me busy (busier than staying home all day anyway). Its going well. I haven't really done much work because of one reason or another, but I should start soon. Took a while to get stuff installed on my computer, and access to code after that.
I've had a bit of time to surf and discover some new services. One is friendfeed. I am at http://friendfeed.com/jjmartin this is kind of a nice service that helps consolidate 49 different social networking sites/services. So once you sign up, you put in all the different services you participate in (flickr, picasa, facebook, blog with an RSS feed, etc.) all into one place. So then your friends can see in one spot where you add pictures, post a blog or whatever. You can add LiveJournal through the RSS feed but only your public posts will show up. I think its pretty neat. I added a SCA room and an Atenveldt room that you could also join if you felt like it. My homepage now has a badge with all the various services that I participate in all consolidated by friendfeed. Well Day 1 and 2 was mostly me taking some time off and screwing around. I did ride my bike for about 50 minutes or so on monday.
The rest of the time I pretty much played Soul Caliber 4. I made the mistake of playing online last night which sort of gave me a bad taste for the whole thing. I'm sure I'll get over it. Today I am trying to get through stuff on my task list as web minister. I also filled in some linkedin.com stuff. Much of the time so far has been drawing a dogwood blossom for a device drawing that someone requested. My Dad nudged me in scrabble and I spent some time knocking out the moves in 4 different games I am playing that I haven't touched since losing my job. This got me off going through my RSS feeds and such. I came across this which I think some of the readers here will find especially amusing. |
